What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?

I decided to attend UMD because of its amazing culture and people. Each person I have met is super involved on campus and has tons of pride. I am constantly surrounded by motivated people and it has made my experiences at UMD so fulfilling.

Best Experience with a Class or Project

My best experience with a project has to be my autonomous hover craft vehicle for Introduction to Engineering Design (ENES100). I was in a group of about 6-7 students who were determined to make this project successful. I have grown close to this group and still remain friends with all of the students. I have funny memories that I will remember forever, and I learned a lot too.

Favorite Class

ENCE215: Engineering for Sustainability

Involvements/Extracurricular Activities

Some of my favorite extracurricular activities include: Terp-Thon, Intramural sports, volunteering through TerpsforChange and being a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. I highly recommend getting involved and finding your people because it makes the college experience so special.

Favorite On-Campus Event

My favorite On-Campus event is the First Look Fair. At the First Look Fair there are almost 600 student clubs and organizations, campus departments and services, local vendors, and community service agencies. This upbeat atmosphere is the perfect place to learn about what Maryland's campus has to offer.

Research/Study Abroad Experience

I was able to study abroad over a winter term in New Zealand. I took a landscape architecture class which fulfilled credit for my Sustainability minor. This experience was more than I could ever imagine. I learned a lot and have broadened my horizons in the process.

Cool Engineering Experience

One of my coolest engineering experiences was learning to 3-D print objects. Once I learned to 3-D print, I made my own designs and objects and ended up making my family an ornament for the holidays. I love how technology like this is so accessible to students on campus.
