What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?

I chose to attend UMD because it has a very good engineering school and many opportunities to get involved and develop yourself outside of academics. Additionally, I am a Banneker/Key scholar which made it a financially attractive option.

Best Experience with a Class or Project

I studied abroad in New Zealand this past winter and had the opportunity to travel around a beautiful country with a great group of students and learn to appreciate natural resources and how we interact with the environment as we construct our own societies (and how to do field sketches!).

Favorite Class

ENMA470: Materials Selection in Engineering Design

Involvements/Extracurricular Activities

Club Running, Hillel, Scottish Highland Dancing, Cooking

Favorite On-Campus Event

Puppy Palooza on McKeldin Mall

Research/Study Abroad Experience

I spent a Winter Semester studying abroad in New Zealand.

Cool Engineering Experience

A great experience was visiting Under Armour through the RISE program and learning about how they design and test their products (like clothes and shoes).
