What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?

My first campus tour showed me how well I'd fit in at UMD and got me very excited about the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to Maryland students. The strong D1 athletic presence and close proximity to DC were also really attractive factors about Maryland.

Best Experience with a Class or Project

ENES100 was my first group project at UMD, and I was fortunate to have been placed on a great team that took first place in the Spring 2014 competition. We had a great time building and designing our autonomous hovercraft, and I made some great friends in the process.

Favorite Class

In Major: ENCE353: Structural Analysis
Outside of Major: HONR278D: National Security Dilemmas

Involvements/Extracurricular Activities

Being an Images Tour Guide, an RA, and a teaching assistant for PHYS260. I'm also an avid Terps basketball enthusiast, and I go to pretty much every basketball game.

Favorite On-Campus Event

My favorite is the First Look Fair because there's always a new club or activity to learn about and potentially join. We have a very active campus at UMD, and the first look fair really showcases our campus community.

Cool Engineering Experience

I have interned for a geotechnical consulting firm and a civil engineering design/contracting firm in New Jersey and each work experience really showed me how my degree will eventually become the basis for an exciting career.
